Julie Anderson is a multi-award winning documentary film producer, director and programming executive who has worked with HBO, ESPN, ABC Sports, CBS Sports, BET and CNN. Julie is responsible for the start up of major network sports shows including ESPN’s Award winning series “Outside the Lines”, HBO’s award winner “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel”, and most recently ESPN’s acclaimed magazine show “E:60”. As a longtime producer at ESPN, Julie won several Emmys for journalism and special programming for her feature stories covering college football and college basketball, as well as her documentary about tennis great Arthur Ashe. Julie was the director of documentary programming at HBO where she worked creatively and managed films for Academy Award nominee Spike Lee (“Four Little Girls”), Emmy Award winner Alexandra Pelosi (“Journeys with George”), and Academy Award winner Maryanne Deleo (“Chernobyl Heart”), among others. Julie also directed the HBO documentary film “Mr, Conservative” about the life of Senator Barry Goldwater produced by Goldwater’s granddaughter, CC Goldwater. A year in the making, the film went on to great press acclaim, an Emmy nomination and numerous film festival appearances. As Executive Producer of Program Development at CNN from April 2008 to Sept 2009, Julie created new programming for CNN, CNN.com and HLN. She created the iReport Film Festival featuring short films made during the Election campaigns. Julie resides in New York City and is currently at work producing a documentary for HBO.
