Joao Da Silva

Dignity in Schools Communications Coordinator

Mr. Da Silva joined the Dignity in Schools Campaign as Communications Coordinator in January 2011. A native of Chile and Brazil, Joao grew up in Kamuela, Hawaii and then relocated to Santiago, where he graduated with a BA in Sociology from the Universidad de Artes y Ciencias Sociales (ARCIS). In 2004 he moved to Washington, D.C. and became involved in the local activist community. In 2006 he was hired as the Communications Coordinator for School of the Americas Watch (SOAW). After two years with SOAW, Joao moved to New York to join the North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA) as Outreach & Circulations Coordinator.
