Ms. Chowdhury has a background in human rights advocacy. Her work at NESRI focuses on using a human rights approach to address the systemic abuses within workers’ compensation systems. She also works on supporting both the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and its Fair Food Campaign aimed at transforming human rights conditions in the agricultural sector and United Workers and its Fair Development Campaign which works toward a living wage and improved working conditions for low-wage workers. She has previously worked at the Center for Economic and Social Rights, Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute and the European Academy Representing Office in Kosovo. Ms. Chowdhury has been an instructor at Tufts University and CTY, John Hopkins University and a guest lecturer at Hofstra Law School. She holds a law degree from India, an MA in Law and Diplomacy (International Affairs) from the Fletcher School, Tufts University and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School.
