Breaking the School-to-Prison Pipeline: Bringing Restorative Justice to Our Schools

What: The Teachers Unite Leadership Institute is a three day training about the roots of restorative justice and how to develop a plan to implement restorative justice in schools. Institute participants will review community-building techniques, study and practice the fairness committee model, and learn planning strategies and advocacy opportunities for institutionalizing restorative justice in schools.
Day 1: Movement building: the relationship between restorative justice, collective organizing and community accountability
Day 2: Fairness Committees: What school-based restorative practice can look like
Day 3: Putting theory into practice: Planning and advocacy strategies to break the school-to-prison pipeline at your school
