Coming Home: The Dry Storm recently won the Jury Prize for Best Film at the PATOIS New Orleans Human Rights Film Festival. The film portrays the struggle of public housing resident leaders in post-Katrina New Orleans following a decision by the New Orleans City Council to demolish public housing leaving thousands of people without homes.  Coming together as the new organization Mayday New Orleans, the resident leaders attract the attention of international human rights monitors, take their cause all the way to the highest levels of HUD (Housing and Urban Development Agency) in Washington DC, and stage a courageous battle for the human right to housing.  NESRI was the executive producer of this documentary, with Michele Stephenson of Rada Film Group the director and co-producer along with Mayday New Orleans.
