Director of Education and Outreach

Theresa Haas is the Director of Outreach and Education for the Worker-Driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN). The Network seeks to promote and expand the Worker-Driven Social Responsibility model, which represents a new paradigm for protecting human rights in global supply chains, one designed, monitored and enforced by the very workers whose rights it is intended to protect. Prior to joining NESRI, Theresa served as the Director of Communications for the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC), an independent labor rights monitoring organization which works to protect and defend the rights of workers who make clothing and other products. While at the WRC, she helped to develop and launch the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, a legally-binding agreement between workers and apparel brands to make factories safe. In addition, Theresa worked as the Houston Regional Field Director for the Bernie Sanders' campaign, overseeing voter outreach and education for 29 counties in East Texas. She is a graduate of the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University.
