Support the Dignity in Schools Campaign on #GivingTuesday!

On #GivingTuesday, you can help support the work of local parent and youth-led organizations across the country who are building awareness of the school to prison pipeline and taking action against school pushout in their communities.

Your donations to the Dignity in Schools Campaign will support our work with more than 100 local member organizations in over 20 states in their campaigns to end suspensions of pre-school students, stop the criminalization and arrest of students of color, and promote positive, restorative and culturally responsive school environments.

Taking Action to End School Pushout!

Last month DSC held our 8th Annual National Week of Action Against School Pushout, with events in over 40 cities across the country. Members held town hall meetings, school board candidate forums, workshops and marches to advance our national campaign demands to:

  • Shift funding from school police to counselors, peace builders, and positive discipline.
  • Fund and use transformative and restorative justice, mediation, and positive interventions.
  • Stop arresting and pushing out Black students and other students of color, LGBTQ youth, students that are homeless and students with disabilities at higher rates.
  • Make sure states and districts focus on school climate under the new federal law -- the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
  • End paddling and physical punishment in all schools.
  • Invest in public education, not privatization and charter schools.

Donations to DSC are tax deductible.

Because the DSC is a coalition, not a 501c3 organization, donations are made to our Anchor Organization, the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative (NESRI). All funds donated will go directly to support the work of the DSC coalition.
