S'bu Zikode, president of Abahlali baseMjondolo, or South African Shackdwellers' Movement, the country's largest organization led by the militant poor, stopped in New York City and Philadelphia during his November 2010 tour of the United States. Zikode met with community, legal, and policy organizations; participated in neighborhood tours and site visits; and addressed enthusiastic audiences at multiple public events.
